We will explore the entire creative process from the germination of the idea to bringing the idea to fruition with encaustic techniques.

We will spend time initially brainstorming with collage material such as handmade papers, national geographic magazines, fabric, and drawing materials such as ink, watercolor, and gouache. 

We will discuss how the technical choices made to translate an idea onto the surface of a painting reflect each artist's specific vision. 

We will then use encaustic techniques such as collage, rice paper drawing, and photo transfer to incorporate our ideas into paintings. 

All materials will be provided. Cost is $160. Class is limited to four students. We will meet four times at my artspace studio.
